 As children grow, especially during adolescence, various causes can trigger stress, among of them are:

Food
The lack of the nutrients in the daily diet can cause the growth of the child is not optimal and the supply of nutrients that the body needs is not fulfilled so that the condition can cause stress.

Lack of sleep
Too much time playing or watching television makes children miss the necessary hours of sleep. For children who are attending school, many tasks in school, extracurricular activities or courses that make children lack the time and had to spend extra time to finish their  work so that the hours of sleep decreases. Lack of sleep time can cause emotions and mind of the child to be unstable and prone to stress.

Family environment
The squabbling parents or divorce can cause fear in children. This is reasonable, because a child desperately crave affection of those around him, especially his parents to make him feel safe and protected.

Parenting pattern
In general, parents' pattern consists of three kinds.

 First, authoritarian. The authoritarian parents are not giving children the freedom and force the children to meet the demands of their parents.

Second, permissive. Permissive parents free their children whatever they want even though a child is not able to make the right decision and let the child's fault.

Third, authoritative. authoritative parents clearly define the consequences of any action taken, they do not curb children also did not release them, but continued to pay attention to the child and tried to form independent child. This authoritative pattern is best for the child's personality. Stress can happen to a child when he was not able to meet the demands of their parents or because he had experienced of bad consequences due to improper decision.

Pressure from friends
In the daily interaction, a child does not want to be different from other children of the group. The difference of a child, perhaps because of the physical or characteristics can provoke ridicule from his friends. It also can cause a child to feel stressed because they feel cannot be accepted by his friends

Symptoms of Stress in children

A child that stress can be identified by observing their behavior. Psychosomatic reactions, including gastrointestinal problems, headaches, fatigue, sleep disturbances, and problems during urination, may be a sign that something goes wrong.

Other signs such as frequent crying, the lonely, cranky, do not want to go to school or somewhere, making mischief in the school playground or in the neighborhood, drop in school grades. Even stress can also lead to physical illness in children, such as feeling dizzy, nausea, diarrhea, paralysis due to depression, or other diseases.

If you have been otherwise tend to be authoritarian or permissive, we recommend that you change your parenting style so that your child does not feel burdened by excessive demands. Instead, provide clear rules, why these rules are given and the consequences if the rules are violated. Do not forget to give praise when your child to be positive, but given a reprimand or discipline when children commit abuses as well as an explanation of why the discipline given and not because the parents hate their children.

For things that are not too principle, provide flexibility in children. For example in determining extracurricular activities or courses that they will follow. Allow the child to channel his hobby so kids do not feel confined and enjoy activities.

Provide healthy food and enough sleep

Because stress can affect the nutritional intake of children, then serve nutritious meals for them, do not allow them become familiar with fast food, soft drinks, or snacks that are not nutritious. Also familiarize children to eat regularly and on time. Meanwhile, to help children get enough sleep, help children to have a good schedule, determine when he is allowed to play, when to do the work and other schedules so children have time to nap and not to have to sleep late at night to do their job.
