Take antibiotics until the prescribed time limit and do not leave any prescribed antibiotics. If the child is not finished taking the drug, then the risk is very high, the disease will easily come again.

Hospitalization

If the child has severe symptoms such as fever of up to 40 ° C or more, severe diarrhea, swollen stomach, or persistent vomiting, call your doctor immediately to get treatment at the hospital. 

Doctors will provide nutritional fluids through infusion and antibiotics in the form of injectable drugs. 

Usually the patient will recover after undergoing treatment for 3-5 days. However, to ensure full recovery, patients will be required to continue hospitalization longer.

Drink Lots of fluids

Give water, fruit juice, or coconut water to keep the body hydrated. The importance of this fluid intake by the condition of diarrhea and high fever that makes the body tends to dehydration.

Pay attention to food intake

Typhoid fever can cause sufferers, especially children, to be malnourished. Therefore, fill the nutritional needs by providing the right foods. Rice, bread, and bananas are some foods that are easily digested in the stomach and help relieve nausea and diarrhea. 

Fruit juice can also be given, as long as no sugar is added. Note that sugar can aggravate diarrhea. Fruits and vegetables can also be provided to meet the needs of vitamins.

Add honey

Add 1-2 tablespoons of honey to warm tea, and then give it to the child. This drink is good to help recover symptoms of typhoid fever. 

In addition, honey is soothing to the irritated bowel and protects the digestive tract. However, avoid giving honey to children under one year because of the risk of causing botulism.

If there are no other health problems, typhoid fever symptoms will generally heal in the third or fourth week. However, although it is cured, the disease can come again anytime.
